Students in 3rd through 8th grades take the Aspire test each Spring. Our results indicate our students are well prepared for high school, college, and a career in the new 21st century economy. In every grade and in every subject area our students score significantly above the national average. These results speak to the academic expectations and commitment to excellence among the DP faculty and its staff.
In order to meet the needs of every learner, we offer two different academic levels. Regardless of the courses, our students typically gain admission to the private high school of their choice upon graduation from Divine Providence.
Here are a few examples of the academic programs offered at Divine Providence:
The middle school program at Divine Providence School uses the IQWST (Investigating & Questioning The World Through Science and Technology) science curriculum.
Each academic year the students focus on the following disciplines: Physics, Chemistry, Life Science, & Earth Science. IQWST engages students in scientific practices as they experience, investigate, and explain phenomena while learning the core ideas of science.
Divine Providence Catholic School technology has been integrated into all of our classrooms. All classes use our Learning Center, laptop computers and Smart Board technology to engage students in learning and to make information more accessible to our students. In addition, in Preschool-Kindergarten, teachers use iPods to reinforce skills for student success. Students in Grades 5-8 use Google Apps for Education and iPads to enhance learning and collaboration.
